  • Indoor track & field competes at Cornell invite

    Hamilton College competed in Cornell University's multi-divisional, non-team scoring Kane Invitational at Cornell's Barton Hall on Feb. 11.

    Results

    Glenn Watkins '12 led the Hamilton women as she finished sixth out of 52 athletes in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.45. Watkins was the top Division III performer in the event.

    Sarah Boak '12 ended up eighth out of 30 runners in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:24.77. Hannah Lyons '14 was 15th out of 46 athletes in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:59.31. Lyons was the second-best Division III finisher in the field.

    Muriel Schwinn '13 landed in 16th place out of 38 runners in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.45 seconds. Sara Scheineson '12 took 17th place out of 44 athletes in the mile run with a time of 5:39.04. Scheineson and Schwinn ranked fifth among the Division III participants in those events.

    Boak, Sarah Ohanesian '14, Scheineson and Watkins finished third out of 10 in the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 9:55.77.

    On the men's side, Graham Sadler '14 captured eighth place in the high jump with a height of 1.94 meters (6 feet, 4.25 inches). Sadler was the second-best Division III finisher in the event.

    Ben Yeo '14 placed 14th of 35 athletes in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:40.14. Yeo's performance would have put him fourth in a Division III competition.

    The Continentals compete in an invitational at Rochester Institute of Technology on Friday, Feb. 17.
