Artist's Statement:
"When I get a hold of an image (or vice versa) I tend to go over it again and again with what could fairly be termed obsessiveness. This fixation seems to me, as obsessions often do, somewhat beyond my control. Therefore I tend not to spend too much time wondering about its origin or meaning. I look at it like a current that propels me from one image to the next and I guess I would rather swim with the current than analyze it.

Most of these prints were done while I was working on my MFA in printmaking at George Mason University in Virginia. I kept doing these landscapes with clusters of trees and thickets so that image became the vehicle that carried me along and gave me momentum. What was left unresolved in one print became a point of departure for the next. People seemed to like them although I was also asked why I kept making prints of trees. My son would roll his eye and say "not another tree" More recently; I have been doing some still lifes and figures as well so I guess I am slowly broadening my vocabulary."
