Hong Gang Jin, the William R. Kenan Professor of Chinese and director of Associated Colleges in China Program, has been appointed chair of the AP Chinese Development Committee for 2010-2013.
The College Board has launched the Chinese Language and Culture initiatives to help support the growth of Chinese education in U.S. schools and to build a solid foundation for the AP Chinese program. The AP Chinese Development Committee was formed in 2006. The seven members on the committee play a critical role in the preparation of the Course Description and exam for AP Chinese. They represent a diversity of knowledge and points of view in their fields and, as a group, are the authority when it comes to making subject-matter decisions in the exam-construction process. The AP Development Committees represent a unique collaboration between high school and college educators.
