Jodi O'Brien to Lecture at Hamilton College as Part of President's Focus Series

Associate Professor of sociology at the University of Seattle Jodi O'Brien will discuss "Passionate Pursuits: the Re-enchantment of Higher Education," on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m., in the Fillius Events Barn, Beinecke Student Activities Village. The talk is part of the President's Focus Series on Civility, Diversity and Conflict Resolution and is free and open to the public.

O'Brien teaches courses in methodology, theory, social psychology and sexuality and has written and lectured extensively on the cultural politics of transgressive identities and communities.

She also is the co-editor of The Production of Reality: Essays and Readings in Social Interactions (1997) and Practicing Inequalities: Everyday Hierarchies of Difference which will be published later this year.
