The artwork of Hamilton graduate Joseph S. Lewis III '75 is currently featured in the exhibit "Joe Lewis P.I.E. Post Industrial Revolution" at the Katherine Cullen Fine Arts facility in New York City. Dean of Alfred University's School of Art and Design, Lewis's work "gracefully combines cultural significance with immaculate technical execution."  Lewis has previously served as the Dean of the School of Art and Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City as well as serving as Chairman of the Art Department at California State University-Northridge.  Lewis graduated Hamilton with a AB in Art. After graduation he did a Watson Fellowship on "Jungle landscape color theory. " He then went on to obtain a Master's of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore. On the Hill, Lewis was active in Black and Latin Students' Union and remains involved in the Hamilton community through numerous volunteer roles.
