The Kirkland Project for the Study of Gender, Society and Culture presents a film series, Sex, Freaks, and the Elderly: Double Features in February, in conjunction with its 2001-02 program theme, The Body in Question. On Thursday, Feb. 28, the films to be screened are "Double the Trouble, Twice the Fun"  and "Freaks."

All films are free and open to the public, and will be shown at 8 p.m. in the Kirner-Johnson Auditorium in the Kirner-Johnson Building, Hamilton College.

"Double the Trouble, Twice the Fun" (1992), directed by Pratibha Parmar, is a rare and lively examination of disability and homosexuality as it affects both women and men.
"Freaks" (1932),  directed by Tod Browning is a horror classic set at a circus sideshow, controversially cast with people with severe birth defects. Discussion will be facilitated by Esther Kanipe, history department.
