Eric Kuhn '09 has been named to the UWIRE 100 list, a select group of undergraduate and graduate students judged the top collegiate journalists in the country. This is the second year that Kuhn has been selected by UWIRE. Only seven other student journalists were chosen in both 2008 and 2009.

A panel of professional print and multimedia editors judged this year's pool of more than 800 nominees submitted by professionals, students and educators. According to the UWIRE news release, "The selected students have excelled in one or more mediums, have a proven commitment to the journalism field and have the potential to help revolutionize their industry." They represent 69 colleges and universities, ranging from small liberal arts colleges to large state universities.

While at Hamilton, Eric has held internships at NBC, CBS and MSNBC and has written for The Huffington Post, mediabistro.com, Hamilton's Spectator and Continental Magazine and the CBS, NBC and MSNBC Web sites.

"This is a remarkable group of journalists," said Joe Weasel, CEO of UWIRE. "Each has made a significant impact on the field already – they are talented, hard workers and gifted storytellers. Each was nominated by their peers and advisers, who recognized their potential to shape the ever-changing media industry in the coming years."

UWIRE is operated by Palestra.net, an online network of student multimedia reporters. In addition to distributing more than 2,500 articles to campus media member outlets each week, the site enables young media talent to interact, share user-generated content and deliver their work to a national audience through UWIRE's Syndication Service, which reaches a variety of national content partners, including CBS News, FOX News, Yahoo! and LexisNexis.
