"Aequalis: Blueblood and Fusion" (2014) by Rebecca Murtaugh

Sculptures by Associate Professor of Art Rebecca Murtaugh will be on display in “Form and Facture: New Painting and Sculpture from New York.” The exhibition opens Saturday, Nov. 1, and continues through Dec. 13 at the Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery at Staller Center for the Arts on the Stony Brook University campus.

Murtaugh will exhibit large scale works with five other artists. According to the exhibition webpage, “‘Form and Facture’ delves into the conceptual and aesthetic concerns of contemporary abstraction.”

Murtaugh will exhibit large scale works with five other artists. One of her pieces, “Aequalis: Blueblood and Fusion” (2014), was featured in the exhibition announcement in The New York Times on Oct. 26.

An artists’ reception will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 7-9 p.m., and an artist panel discussion will take place on Monday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m., at the gallery. All events are free and open to the public.
