Professor of English and Creative Writing Doran Larson published an essay, "Abolition from Within: Enabling the Citizen Convict" in the latest issue (#91) of Radical Teacher.

 

Larson also presented four papers during the last several months.  He gave  “The Prison Writer as Critical Citizen,” at the Attica40 Conference, University of Buffalo, on Sept. 11-13;  and “Bearing Un-American Witness: American Prison Writing, Penal Apartheid, and the Corpus Politic,” Un-Americans and the Un-American, 1776 to 9/11 Conference, University of Leicester, UK, Sept. 22-24.

 

In June Larson presented "American Prison Writing, Witnessing Penal Apartheid" at the 2011 Law & Society Conference,  in San Francisco; and "Teaching the Prison, Inside and Out" at the 2011 Consortium of Undergraduate Law and Justice Studies Programs,  in Berkeley, Calif.
