Hamilton College finished first in the varsity eight in the Bridge to Bridge Regatta against Colgate University and St. Lawrence University on the Erie Canal in Rome, N.Y., on Oct. 8.

Temperatures were in the 60s early, rose into the 70s later on and there was a slight headwind on the course.

Hamilton's varsity eight crossed the line in 23:12 on the 6.6-kilometer course.  Colgate finished second in 23:37, followed by St. Lawrence in third with a time of 24:46.

In the varsity four, St. Lawrence's "A" entry finished first with a time of 24:54.40.  Hamilton finished second in 25:03.33 and St. Lawrence's "B" entry was third in 25:10.61.

Colgate finished first in the novice four in 26:23.71.  St. Lawrence was second in 27:00.53 and Hamilton was third in 29:00.89.

In the small boats category, Hamilton's double scull finished first in 27:06.30, Colgate's pair was second in 28:01.05 and Hamilton's single scull was third in 29:43.70.

Jaime Leiva-Cabrera '14 was coxswain for the varsity eight.  The rest of the boat included Matt Poterba '12 at stroke, Simon Judd '13 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Dylan Jackson '13, Rafael De La Rosa '12, Chris Visentin '12, Aaron Whiteman '13, Max Geiduschek '14 and Joe Ely '12.

Leiva-Cabrera was also coxswain for the varsity four.  The rest of the boat included Poterba at stroke, Visentin in the bow seat, Adam Minchew '12 in the 3-seat and De La Rosa in the 2-seat.

Monica Gutierrez '15 was coxswain for the novice four.  The rest of the lineup included Patrick English '15 at stroke, Gardner Reed '14 in the bow seat, Alex Cates '15 in the 3-seat and Philip Ewing '15 in the 2-seat.

Ely was in the 2-seat and Geiduschek was in the 1-seat for Hamilton's double scull.  Jackson was Hamilton's single scull entry.
