Hamilton College took second place in the varsity eight against Wesleyan University on April 10, and against Tufts University on April 11 in races held on the Malden River outside Boston, Mass.
 
The temperatures were in the 50s both days. There was a cross wind of 15 to 20 miles-per-hour on Saturday and 5 to 10 miles-per-hour on Sunday.  

Against Wesleyan, Hamilton's entry in the varsity eight finished the 2,000-meter course in 6:41.34. Wesleyan's time was 6:16.91. Against Tufts on Sunday, the Hamilton varsity eight finished in 6:11.02, just 4.3 seconds behind Tufts.
 
On Saturday, Hamilton also took second place in the second varsity eights race. Hamilton crossed the finish in 6:52.83 and Wesleyan was first in 6:41.35. On Sunday, Hamilton’s varsity four took first place, finishing in 6:59.91. Tufts took second with a time of 7:11.90.

Ricky Bottini '10 was coxswain for the varsity eight. The rest of the boat included Gibson Hoyt ‘12 at stroke, Tim Belden '10 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Chris Visentin ‘12, Charlie Palanza ’10, Andre Matias ‘11, Jeff Cardoni '11, Dylan Jackson ‘13 and Jake Lucas ‘13. The lineup for the varsity eight remained the same on Saturday and Sunday.

Dan Rudel ‘10 was coxswain for the second varsity eight. The rest of the boat included Rafael De La Rosa ‘12 at stroke, Jackson in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Joe Ely ‘12, Aaron Whiteman ‘13, Adam Minchew ‘12, Lucas, John Verni ‘13 and Matt Poterba ’12.

Rudel was coxswain for the varsity four. The rest of the boat included De La Rosa at stroke, Ely in the bow seat, Minchew in 3-seat and Whiteman in 2-seat.

Hamilton rows against St. Lawrence University in Waddington, N.Y., on Saturday, April 17.
