Hamilton College rowed against Ithaca College and St. Lawrence University in a regatta at the Cayuga Inlet in Ithaca, N.Y., on April 11.
The varsity eight finished third with a time of 7:08.8 on the 2,000-meter course. The conditions were sunny with a quartering head wind that started the day at 10 miles per hour and built throughout the afternoon to more than 20 miles per hour. Ithaca won the race at 6:41.4.
Hamilton placed second in the second varsity eight with a time of 7:55.6 and Ithaca was first in 7:21.6. The varsity four finished third at 9:04 as Ithaca won with a time of 8:19.6.
Ricky Bottini '10 was coxswain for the varsity eight. The rest of the boat included Andre Matias '11 at stroke, Tim Belden '10 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Willy Cowlew '09, Jeff Cardoni '11, Adam Minchew '12, Ben Sholl '09, Chris Visentin '12 and Jonathan Wilson '09.
Scott Bixby '11 was coxswain for the second varsity eight. The rest of the boat included Gibson Hoyt '12 at stroke, Matt Seaman '12 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): RD Eisenhart '11, Rafael De La Rosa '12, Sam Hincks '11, Andre Zakoworotny '11, Ian Thresher '12 and Matt Poterba '12.
Jeff Rabinowitz '12 was coxswain for the varsity four. The rowers included Poterba at stroke, Seaman in the bow seat, Thresher in 3-seat and Zac Haluza '11 in 2-seat.
Hamilton rows against Union College for the Gilman Plate & Cup on Tuesday, April 14, in Schenectady, N.Y.
