Hamilton College won the Gilman Cup for the fourth straight year and swept all the races in a regatta against Union College on the Erie Canal in Rome, N.Y., on April 3.
 
Hamilton swept the trophy races for the third time in four years. Skies were sunny, temperatures ranged from 70 to 80 degrees, and there was a 10 to 15 mile-per-hour head wind down the course that decreased over the course of the afternoon.
 
Hamilton won the Gilman Cup with a first place finish in the varsity eights race. They completed the 2,000-meter course in 7 minutes, 16.97 seconds. Union’s “A” entry finished second in 7:23.56.

Hamilton also kept the Gilman Bowl with a win in the varsity fours in 8:05.44. Union followed with a time of 8:31.00. In the second varsity eights race, Hamilton crossed the finish line in 7:19.42 for another victory.

Ricky Bottini '10 was coxswain for the varsity eight. The rest of the boat included Gibson Hoyt ‘12 at stroke, Tim Belden '10 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Chris Visentin ‘12, Charlie Palanza ’10, Andre Matias ‘11, Jeff Cardoni '11, Dylan Jackson ‘13 and Jake Lucas ‘13.

Dan Rudel ‘10 was coxswain for the varsity fours. The rest of the boat included Rafael De La Rosa ‘12 at stroke, Joe Ely ‘12 in the bow seat, Adam Minchew ‘12 in 3-seat and Aaron Whiteman ‘13 in 2-seat.
 
Rudel was coxswain for the second varsity eight. The rest of the boat included De La Rosa at stroke, Jackson in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Ely, Whiteman, Minchew, Lucas, John Verni ‘13 and Matt Poterba ’12.
