Five Hamilton College runners finished in the top 15 and the Continentals took second place out of 11 teams at the 2014 New York State Collegiate Track Conference Cross Country Championships, which were held at St. John Fisher College on Oct. 25.

Results

Hamilton's finish was the team's best under head coach Brett Hull, who is in his 24th year with the program. The Continentals posted 53 team points and edged Ithaca College, which was third with 55 points. Nationally ranked No. 10 St. Lawrence University captured the team title with 26 points.

Harry Sullivan '16 paced Hamilton in fifth place out of 120 runners with a time of 26:17 on the 8-kilometer course. Sullivan earned a spot on the all-conference first team for his efforts. St. Lawrence's Trevor Bibb '15 was the race winner in 25:38.

Three Continentals made the all-conference second team. Jack Moses '16 finished ninth with a season-best time of 26:45.5, Ben Yeo '15 was 11th in 26:52.2 and Jack Pierce '17 ended up 13th with a time of 26:55.8. Evan Abelson '16 rounded out Hamilton's top five in 15th place and a time of 26:58.4. Abelson's finish earned him honorable mention all-conference recognition.

The Continentals compete at the 2014 NESCAC Cross Country Championships at Middlebury College on Saturday, Nov. 1. The men's race starts at 2 p.m.
