Hamilton College's Peter Kosgei '10 (Kapsabet, Kenya/Kapsabet Boys' HS) was selected the New England Small College Athletic Conference men's cross country performer of the week based on his result at the SUNY Oneonta Airfield Invitational on Sept. 18.
Kosgei -- a nine-time national champion and 10-time All-American in cross country and track and field -- finished first out of 95 runners at the meet last Friday. His time of 18 minutes, 1 second on the 6,000-meter course shattered his own course and meet record by 25 seconds.
Kosgei's award marks the second straight week a Hamilton men's cross country runner has been honored by the conference. The Continentals compete in the Lehigh University Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa., on Oct. 2.
