Men's cross country runner places sixth at NCAA Championships

Hamilton College's Peter Kosgei '11 finished sixth out of 279 runners at the 2010 NCAA Division III men's and women's cross country championships at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, on Nov. 20.

Kosgei's season-best time of 24 minutes, 31.2 seconds on the 8-kilometer H.J. Max Championship Course was nine seconds behind the national champion, Haverford College's Anders Hulleberg '11. He earned his third All-America award in cross country for his performance.

Kosgei, who owns nine national titles in cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field, finished second at the NCAA cross country championships in 2007, won the title in 2008, and was 43rd in 2009 due to the lingering effects of a severe cold.
