Men's golf in NESCAC championship qualifier this weekend
The Hamilton College men's golf team competes in the NESCAC Golf Championship Qualifier at Brunswick Golf Course in Brunswick, Maine, on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28 and 29.
Bowdoin College is the host for this 36-hole event, which begins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Sunday's final round begins at 9:30 in the morning. The winner will host the 2014 NESCAC championship in April, and the next three highest finishers will join them. The conference champion receives an automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division III championship.
Hamilton, Bowdoin and Williams College are paired together in groups that will begin teeing off at 11:10 on Saturday. The Continentals finished third at last year's qualifier and advanced to the NESCAC championship for the fifth time in six years.
Three-time NESCAC all-conference honoree Greg Scott '14 leads Hamilton into this weekend. Scott owns an 18-hole scoring average of 74.83 through six rounds this fall. Matt Yung '16 earned the 2012 NESCAC Rookie of the Year award and made the all-conference second team. Mac Pivirotto '15 was first team all-conference last year and Carter White '14 made the all-conference team in 2011.
