Hamilton College finished in second place out of 10 teams in the NESCAC Golf Championship Qualifier, which was held at The Skenandoa Golf Club in Clinton, N.Y., on Sept. 27 and 28.

Results

The Continentals posted a four-man team score of 299 on Sunday after a 301 on Saturday for a 36-hole total of 600. Middlebury College edged Hamilton for first place by just one stroke. Trinity College and Williams College tied for third place at 603.

All four teams advance to the 2015 NESCAC Golf Championship on April 25 and 26. Middlebury will host the event on its campus at Ralph Myhre Golf Course. The Continentals qualified for the championship for the sixth time in eight years.

Hamilton's Joe Tigani '18 fired a 1-under-par 71 in the second round and tied for fifth place out of 49 golfers with teammate Riley Burgess '18 at 148. Tigani's 71 was his best round this season, and Burgess carded a 75.

Mac Pivirotto '15 posted a 74 for the Continentals and tied for ninth place at 151. Pivirotto earned a spot on the NESCAC all-conference team for finishing in sixth place at the 2012 qualifier. Gipper Gailor '15 recorded his second straight 79 and tied for 23rd place at 158.

Williams' Grant Raffel earned individual medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 145. Raffel's 2-under 70 on Sunday was the best round of the tournament.

Hamilton has completed its fall season schedule.
