Greg Scott '14 earned a spot on the all-tournament team and led Hamilton College to a tie for fourth place out of six teams at the 2012 Williams College Spring NESCAC Opener, which was held at Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass., on April 21 and 22.

RESULTS

Hamilton and Trinity College finished with a team score of 634 shots. Williams captured the team title by seven strokes over runner-up Middlebury College with a total score of 622. Amherst College took third place and was just one shot clear of the Continentals and Trinity. Taconic GC has a par of 71 and measures 6,808 yards.

Scott opened with an 80, which matched his worst round in 2011-12, on Saturday. He rebounded with a 2-over-par 73 on Sunday that gave him a 36-hole total of 153, and left him in a tie for third place out of 43 golfers. Scott's stroke average this season is 74.9 for 18 rounds.

Hamilton's four-man team score of 315 on Sunday was easily the best in the six-team field as wind and rain pelted the course for much of the day. Dhanika de Silva '15 carded a 78 and Carter White '14 added a 79 in support of Scott's brilliant round.

The Continentals were in fifth place after a team score of 319 on Saturday. White's 79 led the way, while Scott, de Silva and Mac Pivirotto '15 all carded rounds of 80. White and de Silva ended up at 158 for the weekend and tied for ninth place overall.

Hamilton returns to Taconic GC for the 2012 NESCAC Championship on Saturday and Sunday, April 28 and 29. The winner receives an automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division III Championship in May.
