Nationally ranked No. 5 Norwich University shut out visiting Hamilton College 8-0 in a New England Small College Athletic Conference/ECAC East crossover game on Dec. 5.
 
Norwich (5-0-1 overall, 4-0-0 ECAC East) opened the scoring 6 minutes, 15 seconds into the first period. The Cadets added a power-play goal a little over a minute later. Norwich was 1-for-3 with the extra man, while Hamilton (3-2-1, 2-2-0 NESCAC) was 0-for-7. Norwich went up 3-0 at 12:55 of the first period.
 
The Cadets notched two more goals in the second period to make the score 5-0. The third period featured three more Norwich goals. Scott Hefferman '11 played all 60 minutes in goal for the Continentals and made 28 saves. Norwich enjoyed a 36-25 advantage in shots on goal.
 
The Continentals return to action on Friday, Dec. 11, when they host top-ranked SUNY Oswego in a non-conference game at 7 p.m.
