The Red Dragons (3-5) tied the score with two goals early in the second period. The first goal came on a wrist shot from the left circle at 2:23, and the second on a one-timer past Bartel after a save on a delayed penalty call at 3:32.
In the third period, Cortland took two penalties a little more than a minute apart and Hamilton capitalized. Biggs knocked in a rebound on the left side at 7:36 with one Cortland player still in the box for a 3-2 lead. Cortland pulled its goalie for an extra skater late in the third, but Tomicek sealed the win with 57 seconds left on an unassisted empty-net goal.
Hamilton held a 38-34 advantage in shots. The Continentals return to action on Monday, Nov. 30, when they host Utica College for a non-conference game at 7 p.m.
