Hamilton College tied for 20th place out of more than 50 teams at the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Indoor Championships, which were held at New York City's New Balance Armory Track & Field Center on Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2.

RESULTS

Sam Reider '14 ran to second place and broke his own school record in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:05.28. The top eight finishers in all events earn a spot on the ECAC all-conference team. Reider set the record of 1:06.26 last weekend at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) indoor championships on Feb. 23.

Joe Jensen '15 smashed the school record and finished fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.08 seconds. The old record of 49.59 seconds had been held by Olamide Harrison ’04 since Feb. 28, 2004. Jensen also placed 10th in the 200-meter dash in 22.53 seconds.

Hashem Zikry '13 posted a season-best time of 8:34.25 and took fourth place in the 3,000-meter run. Jimmy Alexis '13 cleared 4.52 meters (14 feet, 10 inches) and finished 11th in the pole vault on Friday. Jake London '14 ended up 20th in the high jump with a height of 1.86 meters (6 feet, 1.25 inches).

SUNY Cortland won the team title with 59 points and Rensselaer took second with 48 points. Nationally ranked No. 21 SUNY Oneonta rounded out the top three with 46 points. Hamilton finished with 17 points. Additional ranked teams that participated in the event included No. 4 Rochester Institute of Technology (4th place), No. 24 University of Southern Maine (6th) and No. 19 Tufts University (27th).
