Hamilton College athletes finished first in nine events in the non-team scoring Hamilton Invitational at Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Feb. 9.

RESULTS

Sam Reider '14, Hashem Zikry '13 and Jake London '14 qualified for the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championships, which will be held at New York City's New Balance Armory Track & Field Center on March 1-2. Reider won the 500-meter dash in a time of 1:07.30, and Zikry finished first in the 3,000-meter run in 8:49.01. London placed second in the high jump at 1.93 meters (6 feet, 4 inches).

Joe Jensen '15 took first in the 200- and 400-meter dash. Jensen’s time in the 200 was 23.01, which is just 0.21 seconds shy of the ECAC qualifying standard, and he finished the 400 in 51.25 seconds. Jensen also placed fourth in the 60-meter dash finals, with his best time of 7.23 seconds recorded in the prelims.

Jimmy Alexis '13 claimed first place in the pole vault with a height of 4.25 meters (13 feet, 11.25 inches). Will Tifft '14 came in first in the 35-pound weight throw with a distance of 14.92 meters (48 feet, 11.5 inches), and Leonard Kilekwang '16 jumped to first place in the triple jump at 12.67 meters (41 feet, 7 inches). Kilekwang also grabbed second place in the long jump with a mark of 5.85 meters (19 feet, 2.5 inches).

Andrew Mandelbaum '16 won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:01.47. The 4x400-meter relay of Jensen, Reider, London and Alexis, rounded out the top finishes in a winning time of 3:34.96. London also earned sixth place in the 60-meter finals. His best time of 7.39 seconds was posted in the prelims.

Mbuotidem Isaac '15 was runner-up in the 60 meters with a time of 7.14 seconds, and ended up sixth in the 200 in 24.03 seconds. Jeffrey Blackburn '13 finished second behind Kilekwang in the triple jump with a distance of 12.42 meters (40 feet, 9 inches).

In the mile run, a trio of Continentals placed in the top five less than four seconds apart. Evan Abelson '16 (4:45.34) took third place, Jack Moses '16 (4:46.34) claimed fourth place and Charles Pfander '16 (4:48.69) finished fifth.

Hamilton travels to Rochester Institute of Technology for the Tiger Invitational on Friday, Feb. 15.
