Hamilton College and Ithaca College played 110 minutes without scoring a single goal in a non-league game at Ithaca's Carp Wood Field on Sept. 12.
Despite the scoreless finish, the game was action-packed. The teams combined to take 41 shots and 16 of those shots were on goal. Hamilton (0-1-1 overall) took 11 of its 17 shots in the second half. Ithaca (1-1-2) held the advantage in shots with 24 and in corner kicks with six, while Hamilton had only three.
Ithaca ended the second overtime with four shots in the final 10 minutes. Hamilton had one opportunity to score in the period, but a shot by Jesse Arroyave ‘11 was blocked.
Eric Boole ’13 started his first collegiate game in goal for the Continentals. Boole made eight saves in his first career shutout. Hamilton won last year's game against Ithaca, 2-1, and it also went to double overtime.
The Continentals host SUNY Oswego for another non-league game on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 4 p.m.
