Ninth-seeded Hamilton College won one of four matches and finished in eighth place in the New England Small College Athletic Conference Championships at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., from Feb. 5 to Feb. 7.
 
The Continentals (7-14 overall) defeated No. 8 seed Colby College 5-4 in the first round on Friday. Hamilton fell by identical 8-1 scores on Saturday against No. 1 seed Trinity in the quarterfinals, and No. 5 seed Middlebury College. In the final match of the weekend on Sunday, Hamilton lost 6-3 to No. 7 seed Tufts University.
 
Against Colby, Hal Lee ‘11, Harry Keeshan ‘13, Ronald German ‘13 and Brett Morell ‘10 all won in three straight games at the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth positions, respectively. Tim Gray ‘12 earned a win in four games at the ninth position by scores of 11-6, 7-11, 11-3 and 11-4.
 
Against 11-time national champion Trinity, Gray earned another win at the ninth position to improve his season record to 12-7. After losing a close first game, 12-10, he rallied to win the next three, 11-7, 11-9 and 11-5. In the match against Middlebury, Morell defeated his opponent at the eighth position in four games (11-9, 11-8, 8-11, 11-3).
 
On Sunday against Tufts, Alex Wood ‘12 played at the fourth position and picked up a 3-1 win (11-9, 8-11, 11-6, 11-8). Keeshan and Morell played at the sixth and eighth positions, respectively, and also picked up four-game victories.
 
The Continentals return to action on Saturday, Feb. 13, when they host Colgate University at the Little Squash Center.
