The Hamilton College Continentals wrapped up competition at the 2014 NESCAC Men's Squash Championship with a pair of wins in Saturday’s consolation round at Colgate University.
The Continentals, who are hosting the tournament for the first time in the event's eight-year history, beat Connecticut College 6-3 and knocked off Tufts University, 7-2. The ninth-seeded Continentals (8-8 overall) placed ninth in the championship, which concludes on Sunday.
Four Continentals collected wins in each match. Playing at the seventh position, Peter Harrison ’15 won 3-2 and 3-0 to raise his season record to a team-best 9-7. Mac Pivirotto ’15 won 3-2 and 3-0 at the sixth position. Teddy Black ’15 (third position) and Marc Dudzik ’16 (fourth) won five-game matches against Connecticut College and swept their Tufts opponents.
Martin Bawden ’14 and Tucker Hamlin ’17 were 3-0 winners at the first and second positions, respectively, against Conn. College. Joshua Wolpert ’16 won 3-2 at the fourth position against Tufts, and Walker Lourie ’15 and Sam Matlick ’17 rounded out the winners against the Jumbos, sweeping their opponents at the eighth and ninth positions, respectively.
