Seven Hamilton players were entered in singles competition, and the Continentals had three doubles teams. The tournament featured three singles and two doubles flights. Hamilton was joined by St. Lawrence, Nazareth College, Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Rochester.

Berman went 3-0 in the "B" flight after a bye out of the first round. He defeated an RIT player 6-3, 6-2, in the quarterfinals, and took out a Rochester player 6-2, 6-4, in the semifinals. Berman came from behind in the finals against a Nazareth player. Berman dropped the first set, 6-1, before he rallied to win 7-6 (5) in the second. He completed the comeback with an exciting 11-9 victory in the third set super-tiebreaker.

Libin and Petit also posted a 3-0 record in "A" flight doubles. The duo handed a St. Lawrence team an 8-3 loss in the quarterfinals, and they cruised to an 8-4 win in the semis against a pair from RIT. The final -- against a Rochester team -- was much tougher. Libin and Petit prevailed 9-8, including 7-5 in the tiebreaker.

Ben Swett '14 won the "B" flight singles consolation bracket after he was eliminated from the championship draw in three tough sets. Swett defeated a Nazareth player (8-3) and an RIT opponent (8-5) to claim the title.

The Continentals are off until the USTA/ITA Division III Northeast Regional championship at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The three-day tournament starts on Friday, Sept. 30.
