Hamilton College dropped the second match of its spring break trip, 7-2, against Division II program Wayne State University in Orlando, Fla., on March 16.
Hamilton (1-2 overall) earned two wins in doubles play. The team of Michael Moreno ’11 and Jordan Petit ’13 defeated their opponents 8-3 at second flight. Greg Kreitzer ‘11 and Coby Berman ’12 recorded an 8-5 victory at third flight.
Moreno fought hard in a close match at fifth flight singles. He lost his first set 6-2, but rallied to win the second 4-6, before being edged 6-4 in the final set. Petit (3-6, 6-2, 6-3) and Kreitzer (6-2, 4-6, 6-0) dropped three-set matches at third and fourth flight singles, respectively.
The Continentals play Western New England College on Wednesday, March 17.
