Hamilton College hosted seven teams for the multi-divisional, non-team scoring Continental Invitational at Pritchard Track on April 5.

SUNY Plattsburgh, SUNY Oswego, St. Lawrence University, Colgate University, College of St. Rose and SUNY Cobleskill participated in the event on a cold and windy Sunday. Peter Kosgei '10 met a provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Kosgei's winning time was 9:16.82, which was almost 50 seconds faster than the runner-up from St. Rose. Kosgei qualified provisionally for the 5,000-meter run last week.

Will Reid '10 finished second and Scott Bickard '11 was third in the 5,000 at this meet. Reid's time was 15:56.62 and Bickard was right behind in 16:01.96. Greg Fullman '09 took second place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.27 seconds.

Jon Higginbotham '11 captured second place in the high jump (1.78 meters) and third place in the long jump (6.55 meters). Josh Orndorff '11 finished second in the shot put with a distance of 13.09 meters.

Cuffie Winkler '10 took fifth place in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:10.76. Cam Gaylord '09 and Peter Woodruff '09 finished within .28 seconds of each other in the 800-meter run. Gaylord was sixth in 2:02.36 and Woodruff was seventh in 2:02.58.
