James Russell '09 set school and facility records in the pole vault as Hamilton College hosted its own non-team scoring invitational at Pritchard Track on April 18.

Russell cleared 4.61 meters to break his own school record of 4.55 meters, which he previously set in 2007. The old facility record was 4.57 meters, set in 2005 by an athlete from SUNY Brockport.

Peter Woodruff '09 was the first of three Continentals in the top three of the 1,500-meter run. Woodruff crossed the finish line in 4:16.24, which was just ahead of Will Reid '10 at 4:17.50. Scott Bickard '11 was next with a time of 4:19.55.

Jon Higginbotham '11 won the high jump with a height of 1.75 meters. James Grebey '12 captured first place in the 800-meter run in 1:58.56 and Devon Lynch '11 won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:25.65.

Josh Orndorff '11 recorded two runner-up finishes in the field for Hamilton. Orndorff threw the hammer 37.95 meters and posted a mark of 13.39 meters in the shot put.

Hamilton competes in the New England Small College Athletic Conference championships on Saturday, April 25 at Connecticut College.
