Hamilton College finished in ninth place of 11 teams at the 2011 NESCAC championships held at Amherst College in Amherst, Mass., on Oct. 29.

James Grebey '12 was the top finisher for the Continentals, placing 17th out of 129 runners on the 8-kilometer course in a time of 26 minutes, 41 seconds.  The race winner's time was 25:51.

Hashem Zikry '13 was next for Hamilton, finishing 56th in 27:34. Ben Yeo '14 was close behind in 27:43, good for 61st place.  Todd Woodworth '12 was the fourth-best finisher in 28:39, and Robert Hayden '14 rounded out the top five in 29:09.

Nationally ranked No. 14 Williams College captured the team title with 49 points, and No. 9 Bates College and No. 33 Bowdoin College tied for second place with 79.  No. 7 Middlebury College was fourth with 94 points, and No. 18 Tufts University finished fifth with 109.  The Continentals finished with a team score of 259 points.

Hamilton competes in the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Championships at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., on Saturday, Nov. 12.
