Seven of Hamilton's residence halls have been competing in a Dorm Energy Battle since November 1. The competition, which ends November 15, matches similarly sized residence halls together to see which can reduce its energy consumption the most. The battle consists of two competitions: Milbank vs. Babbitt, and Wertimer vs. Kirkland vs. Major vs. Minor vs. McIntosh. The winning residence halls receive a pizza party.

After nine days, Milbank currently leads the competition between the bigger residence halls, and Kirkland leads the smaller residence hall matchup. The competition is monitored by Building Dashboard, a Web site that tracks energy consumption in buildings across campus. Up to date standings from the competition and energy use information for many other buildings on campus can be found at http://www.geocities.com/energybattle/
