Hamilton College hosts SUNY Brockport in a 2011 NCAA Division III women's lacrosse championship first round game at Hamilton's Steuben Field on Wednesday, May 11, at 5 p.m.

Visitors Guide

Hamilton (17-1 overall) has won 15 straight games coming into the NCAA championship, and 47 of its last 48 at home. The Continentals earned an automatic bid by capturing the Liberty League championship with a 17-8 win against Union College in the final on May 7.

Hamilton is in the NCAA championship for the fifth straight year and the seventh time in program history. The Continentals -- 12-5 all-time in this event -- won the national title in 2008, reached the semifinals in 2009 and lost in the championship game last year.

Brockport (10-6) secured one of the nine at-large bids after they advanced to the SUNYAC championship final. The Golden Eagles lost 14-6 to SUNY Cortland in their conference championship game on May 7. Brockport went 6-2 in conference play during the regular season and is 5-5 away from home.

The Golden Eagles made their first trip to the NCAAs last year when they defeated Rowan University in the first round and lost to Franklin & Marshall College in the regional semifinals.

Hamilton and Brockport have never played each other in women's lacrosse. The winner takes on the winner of Colby College and Norwich University in a regional semifinal on Saturday, May 14. A total of 15 first round games are scheduled for Wednesday.
