Two Hamilton College men's ice hockey players and head coach Norm Bazin were honored by the New England Small College Athletic Conference on March 4 when the 2009-10 all-conference teams were announced.

Bazin was selected the NESCAC coach of the year, while forward Anthony Scarpino '12 (Meadville, Pa./Meadville HS) and defenseman BJ Lalonde '12 (Pointe Claire, Quebec/Phillips Exeter Academy [N.H.]) were voted to the second team.

Scarpino is tied for ninth place in the NESCAC with 12 goals in 21 games, and is tied for 17th with 22 points. Lalonde is tied for ninth place with 14 assists in 25 games, and is tied for sixth in defenseman scoring with 16 points.

Bazin -- in his second season -- has guided Hamilton to a 15-8-2 record so far. The 15 victories are the most for the Continentals since 2003-04. Hamilton is in the NESCAC championship semifinals for the first time since 2006. The Continentals play nationally ranked No. 7 Bowdoin College at Bowdoin on Saturday, March 6. Hamilton is 10-2-1 in its last 13 games.

A 1994 graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, Bazin began his coaching career at his alma mater in 1996 under Tim Whitehead '85. Whitehead is the current head men's hockey coach at the University of Maine.
