Christopher Dickey
Christopher Dickey, award-winning author and the Paris bureau chief and Middle East regional editor for Newsweek magazine will present a lecture, "The Persian Paradox: Iran's Imperial Anxieties - and Ambitions," on Monday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m., in the Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

Dickey’s most recent book, Securing the City, was published in February 2009. His Shadowland column, about counter-terrorism, espionage and the Middle East, appears weekly on Newsweek Online. Prior to his position at Newsweek, Dickey worked for the Washington Post as Cairo bureau chief and Central America bureau chief. He has written articles for Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Wired, Rolling Stone, The New York Times Book Review, and The New Republic, among other publications. He has also appeared on CNN, MSNBC and National Public Radio.

Dickey is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, where he was formerly an Edward R. Murrow Press Fellow. He is also the author of several books, including Innocent Blood: A Novel (1997), Summer of Deliverance: A Memoir of Father and Son (1998), and The Sleeper (2004). He is currently a visiting professor at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom.
