Associate Professor of Government Phil Klinkner was interviewed for a Buffalo News article (6/10/01) about President Bush's taxpayer rebates.
The article says, "...The political impact of the tax cut may be overblown," according to Phil Klinkner, a Hamilton College political scientist. "Between the fall of 2001 and Election Day 2002 is a political eternity," Klinkner said. "..If these taxes eat up the surplus, or if we start seeing deficits, then he (Bush) is going to be under a lot of pressure; he is going to have a lot of explaining to do."
