Peter Balakian, a poet and professor ofEnglish at Colgate University, will present a reading of his work on Thursday,April 17, at 8 p.m. The reading will take place in the Fillius Events Barn, andis free and open to the public.

Balakian's newest work is his memoir, Black Dog of Fate, which recountshis years of growing up Armenian-American in the New Jersey suburbs. His otherbooks include four books of poetry, Father Fisheye, Sad Days ofLight, Reply from Wilderness Island and The Dyer's Thistle.He is also the co-editor and co-founder of Graham House Review, a biannualmagazine of contemporary poetry, translations, reviews, and essays.
