POETRY READING AT HAMILTON COLLEGE


George O'Connell will read from his poetry on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 8 p.m. in the Fillius Events Barn, in the Beinecke Student Activities Village. The reading is free and open to the public.

O'Connell is the winner of the International Grand Prize in the 1997 Atlanta Review Poetry Competition, the 1997 Bellingham Review 49th Parallel Poetry Awards, and the 1997 Soundpost Press Poetry Prize.

His work has appeared in a variety of publications including The American Poetry Review, The Antioch Review and Chelsea. A collection of his recent poetry, Inadmissible Evidence, is forthcoming from Soundpost Press in December.

Currently, O'Connell is a Visiting Assistant Professor of English at Hamilton College, where he teaches creative writing and literature.
