The Kirkland Project for the Study of Gender, Society and Culture will host a conference, "Questioning the Body," on March 8 and 9 at KJ and Cafe Opus.  Schedules with specific locations will be distributed at registration.The conference is free and open to the public. Following is the schedule:

Friday, March 8:  "Beauty on the Brain" lecture by Susan Bordo, professor of English and women's studies, University of Kentucky, 4:10 p.m., Chapel.

Saturday, March 9:
9:30-9:45 a.m. - Coffee and registration
9:50-11 a.m.- Faculty panel with Kathryn Doran, Kris Paap, and Judy
Owens-Manly "Female Biology: Myths and Facts" by Female Biology Class
11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.- Panel by the Sexual Assault Center and the Emerson grant
students
12:15 - 1 p.m. - Lunch in McEwen
1-2 p.m.-  Concurrent sessions, "How Our Bodies and Minds Help to Define Us" panel by
Disabilities Action Group, and,
"Sex Roles and Gender Play in the Middle Ages" panel by Medieval Studies class
2:15-3:30 p.m. - "Transforming Body Image" by Jan Fisher
"Social Location and Black Women's Bodies: A  Conversation" by Shelley Haley and students
3:30-3:45 p.m.- short refreshment break
3:45-5 p.m. - "Colorful Notes" creative writing reading
5 p.m.  reception (catered)
8 p.m. Senior Dance Concert
