On October 19, Casemate Publishers, a leader in military history book publishing, will release Axis Sally: The American Voice of Nazi Germany by Richard Lucas '84. The book will be the first fully-documented biography of Mildred Gillars, an Ohioan convicted of Treason who broadcast Nazi propaganda and paid for it with a 12-year prison term. Sources include government documents and trial transcripts.

Lucas graduated from Hamilton with a degree in government and went on to earn his master’s degree from Binghamton University. He has been a shortwave radio enthusiast since high school and Axis Sally: The American Voice of Nazi Germany is his first published work.
