Hamilton College rowers Rachel Johnson '13 (Narberth, Pa./Shipley School) and Dylan Jackson '13 (Yarmouth, Maine/Yarmouth HS) medaled in a number of races at the 2012 USRowing Club National Championships, which were held on the Cooper River in Camden County, N.J., from July 11 to July 15.

Johnson, who was rowing for the Pennsylvania Athletic Club Rowing Association, picked up silver medals as part of a women's senior lightweight 4+ and a women's intermediate double. The senior lightweight entry's time of 7:53.027 was behind only Community Rowing, Inc., with a time of 7:51.699. The intermediate double entry's time of 7:34.887 was second to a pair from the University of Wisconsin that finished in 7:26.016.

Jackson also rowed for the Pennsylvania Athletic Club Rowing Association. He was part of a men's intermediate lightweight 8+ that won a gold medal, a men's senior lightweight 4+ that earned silver and a men's intermediate lightweight 4+ that picked up a bronze medal.

The lightweight 8 entry's winning time was 5:57.717. The senior 4 entry's time of 6:34.593 was just behind another Pennsylvania A.C. boat that finished in 6:33.670. The intermediate 4 entry recorded a time of 6:50.500 as the New York Athletic Club's winning time was 6:39.132.

Johnson will be a team captain for Hamilton women's crew in 2012-13, and Jackson will serve in the same capacity for men's crew. The first event on the fall schedule for both programs is the Bridge-to-Bridge Regatta on the Erie Canal in Rome, N.Y., on Saturday, Oct. 6.
