Chet '70 and Joy Siuda cut the ribbon as Stuart Scott '61 and Joan Stewart look on.
One of the highlights of Reunions 2007 was the dedication of Siuda House, the new home of Hamilton's admissions office. The former Sigma Phi fraternity house was dedicated in honor of Joy and Chet '70 Siuda on June 1.

Siuda House presenters include President Joan Hinde Stewart and Hamilton board chairman Stuart Scott '61 as well as other trustees and Monica Inzer, dean of admission and financial aid.

Chet Siuda, a Hamilton trustee since 1987, chaired the trustee committee on admission from 1994 to 2001. Siuda and his wife's commitment to admissions also includes the creation of an endowed scholarship to "create possibilities for students who otherwise couldn't attend Hamilton." The Office of Admission and Financial Aid moved in May from its offices in a house on College Hill Road into The Siuda House on Campus Road.

Portrait of Cleary '03
A portrait of Michael Cleary '03 was commissioned by his Sigma Phi brothers and is displayed in the Siuda House. After graduating from Hamilton, Cleary attended Army Officer's Candidate School. He was serving as a first lieutenant with E Company, 1st Battalion and 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd brigade of the 3rd Infantry Division when he was killed on Dec. 20, 2005 in Samarra, Iraq.

The Beta Chapter of Sigma Phi fraternity was established at Hamilton in 1831. Members of the fraternity met in dormitory rooms and other spaces on and off campus until the fraternity house was constructed in 1917. Renovated in 1924 and again in 1946, the building was purchased by the College in 2003. Extensive construction and remodeling began in 2006 to create the new home for the Office of Admission and Financial Aid.
