Hamilton College lost non-conference games against Edgewood College and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at Cape Coral Park in Cape Coral, Fla., on March 19.

Hamilton (1-7 overall) has been shut out in four straight games. Edgewood defeated the Continentals 3-0, and Wisconsin-Oshkosh won 16-0 in a game that was stopped after five innings due to the eight-run rule.

Amy Appel '13 allowed three runs on nine hits in seven innings against Edgewood. Appel walked one and struck out four. Leigh Sherrow '11 had two of Hamilton's five hits. Ashley Perritt '14, Lisa Faraci '13 and Liz Reid '11 had the others. Edgewood (5-8) scored two runs in the top of the fifth and tacked on one more in the seventh.

UWO (6-1) scored at least one run in every inning, including seven in the top of the third to make the score 12-0. Chelsea Merritt '14 started in the circle and picked up the loss. Merritt tossed 2.1 innings. Appel and Amanda Nardi '11 had the hits for the Continentals.

Hamilton wraps up its Florida trip with a non-conference doubleheader against the College of Wooster on Sunday, March 20.
