Hamilton College topped a four-team field for the 2016 Founders Invitational title at Founders Park in Islamorada, Fla., on Saturday.

Results

The invitational is a co-ed event that features seven swimming events that are measured in long-course meters instead of yards. The Continentals won all seven events.

The other programs involved in the meet were Washington (Md.) College, Colby-Sawyer College and Cazenovia College. The Washington men are ranked 24th in the most recent Division III Top 25 coaches poll.

Hamilton's winning time in the 200-meter butterfly relay was 2:02.86. The relay included Madeleine Lepesant '19, Luke Jeton '17, Irina Rojas '18 and Alex Jones '16.

The Continentals posted a time of 2:13.41 in the 200 backstroke relay. Emma Raynor '18, Jordan Allen '19, Anya Nugent '18 and Ben Cooper '18 made up the quartet for that winning relay.

In the 200 breaststroke relay, Hamilton recorded a time of 2:26.92. The winning team was comprised of Erin Lewis '18, Jesse Bennett '19, Lauren Halladay '16 and Tripp Miller '18.

The 500 freestyle relay was a special event where the first swimmer went 50 meters, the second one went 100 meters, the third went 150 meters and the anchor leg went the final 200 meters. Hamilton's winning time was 5:22.87 and the swimmers were Scott Becker '17, Sarah Hooper '16, Case Tatro '18 and Lauren Klei '18.

The 200 medley relay was the closest race of the day as the Continentals defeated Washington by .64 with a time of 2:10.29. Hamilton's swimmers were Raynor, Halladay, Jeton and John McBratney '16.

The Continentals recorded a winning time of 4:46.83 in the 400 medley relay. Lauren King '16 led off the event and was followed by Jones, Jessie Halladay '18 and Miller.

Hamilton wrapped up the meet with a strong performance in the 200 free relay. The Continentals defeated another Hamilton foursome by more than three seconds with a time of 1:52.41. The winning quartet included Hannah Mooney '17, Becker, Hooper and McBratney.

The Continentals host Rochester Institute of Technology and Vassar College at Bristol Pool on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m.
