A new social space on the Hamilton College campus, promised by trustees as part of the Residential Life Plan announced last spring, will open on Friday, Feb. 2, at 4 p.m.

The Little Pub, named for 1971 Hamilton College graduate George F. Little II, will celebrate its opening with musical performances by faculty and students, as well a series of give aways throughout the weekend. Occupying a former century-old barn located adjacent to the Beinecke Student Activities Village, The Little Pub features a dance floor, pool table, foosball table, electronic dartboard, large-screen television and fireplace.

Hamilton has contracted with Bon Appetit Management Company to operate the new facility, which will be open Sunday through Thursday, from 4 p.m. to 12 midnight, and Friday and Saturday, from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Admittance will belimited to members of the Hamilton College community and their guests. The official dedication ceremony for the new facility is scheduled for Friday, March 1.

Little is president of George Little Management Inc. in White Plains, which owns and manages trade shows throughout the U.S. A Hamilton trustee since 1993, he has been an active volunteer for his alma mater, serving as vice chairman, and then chairman in 1993-94 and 1994-95, of the Annual Fund. Also the New York Major Gifts Chairman for Hamilton’s successful Campaign for the ’90s, Little is currently chairman of the Trustee Committee on Development.

A Long Island native, Little and his wife Claudia live in New York. They have two sons.
