Three Hamilton College athletes were honored by the Liberty League on Oct. 11 when the league announced its weekly award winners.

All three athletes were co-rookie of the week selections for their respective sport. Leo Nizzi '14 (Frankfort, N.Y./Frankfort-Schuyler HS) was honored for the second time in three weeks in men's soccer. Liza Gergenti '14 (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley HS) received an award in women's soccer for the second straight week, and Nikki Haskins '14 (Quincy, Mass./Southfield School) did as well in field hockey.

Nizzi assisted on the first goal and scored the game-winner -- the first goal of his career -- with less than four minutes left in a 2-1 league victory at Vassar College on Oct. 9. He has already tied the program record with seven assists this season, and still has four games left to break it. He leads the league with those seven assists.

Gergenti allowed two goals and made seven saves in 144 minutes of two wins last week. She stopped six of seven shots in a 3-1 league win against Vassar College on Oct. 9. She leads the league with a 0.57 goals against average in 634 minutes played.

Haskins scored the game-winner and added an insurance goal in a 4-2 league win at the University of Rochester on Oct. 9. Her first goal broke a 2-2 tie with 18:32 left in the second half. She is tied for eighth in the league with seven goals.
