Three Hamilton College soccer players were honored by the Liberty League on Oct. 12 when the league selected its weekly award winners.

Jon Sanford '11 (Barrington, R.I./Barrington HS) was a men's soccer co-offensive performer of the week pick and Marcus Dormanen '10 (Hopkins, Minn./Breck School) was named defensive performer of the week. Alex Rimmer '13 (Rye, N.Y./Rye HS) collected women's soccer rookie of the week honors.

Sanford scored two of Hamilton's three goals last week as the Continentals won a pair of league games on the road. One of the goals came with 3:17 left in the second half of a 1-0 victory at St. Lawrence University on Oct. 10. He is tied for third in the league with five goals this year.

Dormanen was credited with the assist on the game-winning goal against St. Lawrence. He led a defense that allowed just one goal -- with five seconds left in the second half at Clarkson University on Oct. 9 -- last week. Hamilton (6-3-1 overall, 3-1-0 Liberty) is ranked second in the league with a 0.68 goals against average behind Dormanen. The men have won four straight and host Utica College for a non-league game on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 4 p.m.

Rimmer scored two goals in a 4-0 win against Clarkson University on Oct. 9. She took eight shots in a 1-0 double-overtime victory against St. Lawrence University on Oct. 10. She is tied for third in the league with eight goals and is tied for fifth with 17 points. The women (6-4-0 overall, 3-2 Liberty) travel to Utica College for a non-league game on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 4 p.m.
