Three Hamilton College track and field athletes participated in the 2011 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III outdoor championships at Moravian College's Timothy Breidegam Track & Rocco Calvo Field in Bethlehem, Pa., on May 19 and 20.


On Thursday, Scott Bickard '11 finished 10th of 18 runners in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:05.48. Bickard ended up 53 seconds behind the winner. Bickard set the school record in the event with a time of 31:36.70 at the 2011 New England Small College Athletic Conference championships on April 30.

Hannah Jaiven '14 tied for 14th place in the pole vault on Thursday. Jaiven cleared 3.11 meters, and the event winner recorded a height of 4.06 meters. Jaiven posted a height of 3.25 meters at the 2011 New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) championships earlier this month.

James Grebey '12 finished 17th of 34 athletes in the 1,500-meter run on Friday. Grebey crossed the finish line with a time of 3:59.12, which was less than seven seconds behind the event winner. Grebey's best time this season was 3:57.23 at the NYSCTC championships.
