Three Hamilton College women’s lacrosse players were honored by the Liberty League on May 9 when the league announced its weekly award winners.

Libby Schultz ’12 (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Emma Willard School) was a co-offensive performer of the week pick, Meg Pengue ‘12 (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde HS) was selected defensive player of the week and Katie D’Antonio ’14 (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City Senior HS) picked up her third rookie of the week award.

Schultz posted seven goals and two assists in two wins, and was selected the most outstanding player of the 2011 league championship as Hamilton won its fifth straight postseason title. She ranks third on the team with 30 goals and 44 points, and is second with 14 assists.

Pengue's defensive performer of the week honor is her fourth this season. She posted six caused turnovers and four ground balls in two wins, and was named to the all-tournament team for the 2011 league championship as Hamilton won its fifth straight postseason title. She leads the league with 2.56 caused turnovers per game.

D'Antonio posted seven points, three ground balls and two draw controls in two wins, and was named to the all-tournament team for the 2011 league championship as Hamilton won its fifth straight postseason title. She ranks fifth on the team with 21 goals and 31 points.

Nationally ranked No. 3 Hamilton (17-1 overall) will host SUNY Brockport in a 2011 NCAA Division III championship first round game at Steuben Field on Wednesday, May 11, at 5 p.m. The Continentals earned the Liberty League's automatic bid with a 17-8 win against Union College in the league championship final on May 7.
