The Hamilton College track & field teams opened their outdoor season on Thursday at the University of Rochester’s Alumni Invitational.

Results

The men scored 28 points to place 11th of 12 teams at the event, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 4, but moved up in anticipation of cold temperatures.

Four Continentals recorded top-10 finishes in the men's 5,000-meter run, led by Jack Pierce ‘17, who was second in 15:35.32. Harrison Sullivan ’16 took third in 15:36.32, with David Freeman ’16 fourth in 15:36.39. Daniel Baer ’15 finished sixth in 15:46.14.

Christian Belardi ’18 placed fifth in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.20 seconds. In the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, Erich Wohl ’18 was eighth in 10:48.38.

The men's 1,600-meter relay took ninth place in 3:42.67. Evan Abelson ’16 ran the leadoff leg, followed by Andrew Sinclair ’18, Kelt Wilska ’17 and Edward Kister ’18.

The women finished 12th in the team standings with 14 points. The Continentals were led by Emily Banzer ’15, who was fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:37.27.

Lindsay Heyer ’17 placed fifth in the women's 5,000-meter run in 18:41.26 and Michelle Fish ’17 finished 10th in the women's 1,500-meter run in 4:52.68.

The women's 3,200-meter relay of Elizabeth Perry ’18, Rachel Newman ’16, Abigale Uehling ’18 and Lilly Pieper ’18 placed fourth in 10:58.83.

Hamilton' s next scheduled competition is Saturday, April 11, at Nazareth College's ROC City Classic.
